KAUNAS UNIVERSITY OF TECHNOLOGY

A young engineer from Kaunas won a prestigious engineering competition. Last week Marius Baranauskas, the first year student of electric energy technologies at KTU, won Present Around the World competition of the Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET) Lithuania Network. The first Lithuanian competition was hosted by Kaunas University of Technology.

Kaunas University of Technology was ranked the 2^nd in annual rankings organized by “Veidas” magazine. The 13 state and 6 private universities were ranked in 9 categories such as internationalism, academic staff, studies environment, student opinion, graduate employability and others. KTU gained 50,24 points in total.

May 13–16 the Faculty of Humanities of Kaunas University of Technology hosts a Spanish Culture week on the topic “Lithuanian Experience in Spain”.

The KTU Faculty of Design and Technologies will host a workshop by Dr. Arun P. Aneja (USA), the world famous scientist, a renowned expert in the fields of textiles & fibers, nonwovens, advanced materials, chemical, polymers, and composites.

On Friday May 10, at 7 PM on KTU campus (Studentų 50) the closing event of the RAFES Festival 2013 will take place. Come and enjoy music performed on 4 different stages! The organizers of the festival promise good weather (they must know the guy above), the dances until dawn and the very best beer.

April 26 the Institute of Europe at Kaunas University of Technology (Lithuania) welcomed the new President of the European Economic and Social Committee (EESC) Mr. Henri Malosse. The honoured guest delivered a speech at the 11th international conference ‘Political and Economic Challenges Stimulating Strategic Choices towards Europe of Knowledge’.

April 25-26 the international conference ‘Economics and Management 2013’ (ICEM) will take place. The 18th ICEM is being organized by the Kaunas University of Technology Faculty of Economy and Management.

 On April 16-18, the KTU Faculty of Fundamental Sciences will be hosting a seminar cycle by guest lecturers from Bulgarian Plovdivo University, doc. dr. Todorka Lulcheva Dimitrova and doc. dr. Georgi Lalev Dyankov.

 May 10-12, Kaunas University of Technology will host the exceptional event – the resurrection of the international academic Choir competition. ‘Juventus 2013’ will take place 16 years after the last competition.

The annual Languages’ Day organized by the Centre of Foreign Languages will be an exciting experience. All language lovers are invited to participate in this important event and take part in discussions about various aspects of language.

 KTU will be presenting study opportunities for Turkish students in Ankara on 19, Izmir on 21 and Istanbul on 23-24 of March. We also conduct seminars about study options in Lithuania and Kaunas.

On Tuesday March 19th the Faculty of Economics and Management  will be hosting a guest lecture by Birgitte Rode, the founder and the owner of the Danish company Sound Branding.

Baltic Management Development Association (BMDA) is happy to invite the international academic community and researchers in the management field to present their research outcomes during the Research Part of 11th Annual BMDA Conference „The Role of Management Empowering Innovations and Creativity“, which will take place in Kaunas, Lithuania on 9-10 May 2013.
