On February 16, 2012 University of Lithuania celebrates its 90th anniversary. To celebrate this occasion Kaunas city universities organize a joint conference of their senates on February 15 at Kaunas State Philharmonic.
On the same day at the Historical Presidential Palace of Lithuania in Kaunas a press conference will be held where rectors of five Kaunas universities, including Kaunas University of Technology, will present their strategic objectives, activities and directions representing the identity of each university.
Kaunas University of Technology with its strategy aims to become one of the leading European universities, creating frontier knowledge and technologies for sustainable development and innovative growth of the country.
Scientific and creative forces of the University are already concentrated in the following areas: public health care and health improvement processes; development of environmentally friendly technologies and solutions; search of niches for business and science development.
KTU participates in a number of Lithuanian and international research, study exchange and other projects. The University supports the idea of being open to the world, believes in the value gained through cooperation and best practice exchange.
“We pay much attention to the high-level international studies, nurturing talents and leadership, developing and commercialising science products, contributing to the well-being of our society. We are prepared to actively participate in the development of our country”, said prof. Petras Baršauskas, the Rector.
