Contemporary labour market is seeking for professionals who are the experts in the specific engineering area but also have managerial knowledge and competence. The programme of Industrial Engineering and Management was established as a joint effort of technical universities around the Baltic Sea – BALTECH Consortium. Interdisciplinary programme combining the knowledge in engineering, management and economics, and management of engineering decisions prepares the specialists with advanced professional competence both in engineering and management areas.
 

 

Programme Prerequisites 

A minimum of a three year University bachelor’s degree in Industrial or any other Engineering, Physical Sciences, Management or any equivalent is required.

Study Programme 

The MSc programme is a 2-year programme (4 semesters) equivalent to 120 ECTS credits. The programme is taught in English and incorporates an international dimension in all subjects.

Academic Focus 

The Master‘s Programme in Industrial Engineering and Management is intended to provide a postgraduate study on the basis of the three blocks: engineering, management and economics, and management of engineering decisions. The objective of MSc - to prepare the specialists that are able to acquire a professional competence both in engineering and management areas. The degree enables students to study topics in depth relating to the both above–mentioned areas and to understand the integrated principles among these different fields of activity, which are necessary in the modern manufacturing, and non manufacturing environment.

Programme Contents 

Equal attention is paid both into engineering and management study modules in order the student is able to deal with industrial challenges using management approach.
The main study modules are as follows: Managerial Finance, Product Development, Engineering Operations Management, Industrial Marketing, International Industry and Industrial Production, Modern Management of Organisations, Quality Management and etc. provide for students enough knowledge for their scientific and professional activity.

Career Opportunities 

After graduating this programme students have in-depth knowledge of successful industry engineering and management operations both in product and process development and economic management fields, are able to solve urgent problems of product and process quality prevention and assurance and products delivery to customers. The graduates are able to adapt quickly in a permanently changing new manufacturing and business environment and are ready to establish their own business using “know-how” information and production technologies.
The graduates are able able to carry out research, industrial- technological, designing, consultancy, managerial work at companies and institutions, or continue their studies for PhD degree.
