A human enables technologies to do what he is not able to
The BSc graduates who seek for new challenges and application of knowledge gained through Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering or Informatics Engineering studies may choose MSc programme of Control Technologies and project further career related to control and automation issues. The graduates have comprehensive knowledge in processes and systems control technologies, modern automatic control theory and modern automation equipment. They are able to research control, modelling, optimisation and modernisation problems of technical systems and technological processes, have skills to apply the latest scientific achievements in engineering practice.

Programme Prerequisites

A minimum of a three year University bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, electronics engineering, informatics engineering or equivalent.
Admissions are made on the basis of qualification, references and English language skills. Read more about admission procedure.

Study Programme

The MSc programme is a 2-year programme (4 semesters) equivalent to 120 ECTS credits. The programme is taught in English and incorporates an international dimension in all subjects.

Academic Focus

The Master’s Programme in Control Engineering offers a strong basis for both control theory applications and theoretical issues. A general framework is given to the students to make it possible to apply methods in a large variety of control and automation problems. Students learn process dynamics and modelling, feedback control, basic components in industrial automation and communication systems, control of real processes, and computer simulation.

Programme Contents

Students are provided with advanced study of practical and theoretical principles in processes and systems control technologies, modern automatic control theory and modern automation equipment. The courses are given in good arranged modern laboratories.
The main study modules are: Systems Modelling and Identification, Programmable Process Control Systems, Digital Control Systems, Signal Processing in Control Systems, Information technologies for Control systems, Soft Sensors in Process Control, Industrial Communication Networks, Methodology of Scientific Researches, Hybrid Control Systems, Computer-aided Control of Technological Equipment, Modern Automatic Control Theory, Process Optimization and Optimal Control, Modelling and Control of Biotechnological processes, Modern Environmental and Technology Management, Research Work, Master's thesis.
